About the Event
Join iDig2Learn's for our 3rd Annual City of Forest Day —“Forest For Us” — celebration in Lighthouse Park on the northern tip of Roosevelt Island. Starting at 2:30 pm learn about the over 25 species of our baby trees and join activities for all ages including tree care, mulching, tree label placement and some planting until 5:30 pm. Sample forest-infused Body Butters by Niava's Body Bar starting at 2:30 PM. At 3 pm witness the mesmerizing performance of Jody Sperling's Time Lapse Dance ensemble for a 15 minute excerpts from "Arbor" of “Mother Tree” and “Canopy” — back by popular demand thanks to our partners Main Street Theatre & Dance Alliance (MSTDA). Partner Coler Hospital will be on hand with healthy snacks. Meet Artist Nikki Lindt at 3:30 pm as she shares underground listening and drawing experience with us.
